The buzz around positive psychology continues to gain mass appeal across the world. Topic: GOD AS MOTHER: A TRIBUTE TO WOMEN ON MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION
Speaker: Dr. Chandra Reddy Gavva
Celebration of mothers and motherhood as mothers' day has been linked to many Hindu festivals, particularly Navaratri, and the ancient Greeks and Romans held festivals in honor of the mother, Rhea, and Cybele. In Hindu culture, the Adhi Maha Shakti, the great Divine Mother, exists in three different forms, Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, and acts as consort to Shiva. Vishnu and Brahma, respectively, perform the Bhagavan Leela.
In this modern period, the woman plays various roles: a caring mother to all the children, a wonderful wife to her husband, a loving sister to siblings, a dutiful daughter to her parents, and a great friend. To this end, the speaker will share the knowledge embedded in our scriptures, particularly of Sri Devi Mahatmyam (Bhagavati Gita), which is part of Devi Bhagavatam, containing 700 slokas like in Bhagavad Gita, which is part of Mahabharata.
