Vimal Patel is a Vanprasthi and lives with his wife Kusum in Indianapolis. He has spent his career teaching and conducting research in the field of Integrative Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and has been an adjunct Professor at Martin University of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is a founding member of India Community Center, Geeta Mandal of Indianapolis, Hindu Temple of Central Indiana, The Hindu American Vanprasthi Network (HAVAN), and founding member of Center for Interfaith Cooperation. Currently he is actively involved in revitalizing and establishing Hindu University of America.

He has been trying to practice the teachings of Bhagvad Geeta as presented in the books of Srila Prabhupada (the founder acharya of the International society for Krishna consciousness ISKCON) for almost 30 years. He has also been active in sharing this knowledge with others as he has benefited a lot from the teachings. He holds a Masters degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication from IIT Kharagpur, India. He is working as a software developer/ analyst for Honda Motors. He is also the board and temple council member of the ISKCON Columbus temple. He lives in Columbus, OH with his wife, Lila Manjari devi dasi. Both him and his wife are initiated by His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami, who is a direct disciple of Srila Prabhupada.

This section of the Bhagvad Gita (देह-देही विवेक विभाग) describes a unique principle of Hindu tradition; the nature of Atma. Bhagwan explains that the Atma, loosely translated as ‘soul’, has no physical form and is imperishable. When read and contemplated, these shlokas help the reader/devotee overcome grief and gain inner strength. The ultimate goal of this teaching is to know how to rise above the duality of life and death.

What is right knowledge by Suvarna Chhajed Vinze
Suvarna Vinze was born in a family following Jain traditions. She was raised in Mumbai under the influence of several cultures, including Hindu, Parsi, Islam and Christianity leading to fusion culture within her. Our own Geeta Mandal has contributed significantly to her spiritual progress. Geeta Mandal has invited Suvarna as a speaker for several years to share her views with us on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
